Last spring, I had the opportunity to do an exhibit at Seton Hill University that included some of my past work around female empowerment and Blackness in America. The pieces are called, “It’s Just a Hoody,” Women’s HERstory,” and “Black Icons.” Being a Black woman in America is an experience like no other, so exploring my own identity the way they all intersect has been a significant part of my work.
I’m excited to be invited to speak about my work at Westmoreland County Community College about this work and its significance.
